The Triple B Party
Blackberries, Blueberries, and Baseball. And strawberries. But they didn't fit in with my title and I had already spent an embarrassingly long time to think up something other than "Sorbet! Ole!" So that is what is on today's menu: Berry Sorbet and Baseball.
I recently became a real 4dukt and graduated college. Crazy, right? Who knew four years could fly by faster than I could blink. But, the silver lining to leaving what has been my favorite time in life so far, was the graduation support and encouragement I received! And with that came many blessings, one being a gift card to the holy grail:
Williams-Sonoma.
Yes.
I was in heaven.
So I decided to treat myself to an ice cream maker!
Remember the scene in Gilmore Girls where Lorelai receives an anonymous ice cream maker?

Remember the scene in Gilmore Girls where Lorelai receives an anonymous ice cream maker?
Rory: An ice cream maker!
Sookie: A Musso Lussino 480!
Lorelai: Somebody sent me a fascist ice cream maker?
Well, mine's not a Musso Lussino 480. And apart from it being an ice cream maker, this Gilmore scene has nothing to do with my post. But I love Gilmore. And I already love my adorable baby machine!
With my Angel game on, I decided there was no better time than to try out this pretty little fella. It's all new and white and just begging for a little color. Fresh berries and a little sug (sugar) seemed to do the trick. It finally came together to sorbet-like consistency right when Scioscia took his head out of the sand and put Bourjos in the game--he should have started in my humble opinion. At least they manged to pull out a win!
Straight up sorbet heaven. It literally might change your entire life.
Berry Sorbet or Berrylicious Sorbet Ole: (I think the latter is more fun)
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup blackberries
1 1/2 cups strawberries
1/2 cup raw sugar (or more in case your berries aren't as sweet)
1/8 c or half a lemon fresh lemon juice
Puree berries, lemon, and sugar until liquid. Strain through mesh sieve to remove the seeds (or, skip this step if you don't mind the seeds). Pour into ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer's instructions! Mine took about 20-30 minutes to reach sorbet consistency.
And though it was enough sorbet to feed three people, I came close to eating it all. Spoon in hand, lips covered in sorbet, and cheers to the Angels! Perfect summer day.
