Minion Crafts For Kids - Stick Puppets

This Minion Crafts for Kids post is sponsored by Bounty, but all opinions are my own.

Are your kids as excited as mine are about the new Minions movie? Mine are practically counting down the days until July 10th when the Minions movie hits theaters. To help celebrate the movie's release and our love of Minions, we created these Minion Crafts for Kids using Bounty Minions Prints. Making stick puppets is a fun project to do with the kids and they can be used for lots of creative play opportunities.

New Bounty Minions Prints paper towels and napkins come in different prints and are perfect for all kinds of family fun. They are available in a store near you starting this month. I love that they are launching just in time for summer since the kids will be home and we will be spending our time making fun and meaningful messes. Bounty Minions Prints combine the absorbency of America’s favorite quicker picker upper with the fun of Minions! Now obviously, you can use them with meals or anytime you would use a paper towel or napkin, but you can also use them to craft with as well. And there are so many fun varieties to choose from.

For this minion craft we used Bounty Minions Prints paper towels. Since the paper towels come with images of Kevin, Stuart and Bob we cut those out to make our puppets. If your child is older and has pretty good scissor control, then they can do this step themselves. If not, you can cut it out for them. I left a little margin of white paper towel around the Minions since it was easier and I could be a little less precise while cutting. I left their names in while cutting but you could just cut out the image if you prefer.

After cutting out the Minion, kids can use a brush dipped in while glue to apply glue to the edges of of the backside of the cutout. Then just turn over the cutout and stick the Minion to some thin cardboard. I used the cardboard that came on the back of a large pad. I encouraged my kids to just use a bit of glue as we learned through experience that the more glue we used, the more was visible when the Minion puppet dried.

Don't forget to use your New Bounty Minions Prints to clean up sticky hands and work surfaces. My kids were even inspired to help clean up the table because Bounty Minions Prints make cleaning up fun!

When the glue dries, cut out the Minions.

Next, attach a popsicle stick to the back of the Minion craft using masking tape. The popsicle sticks don't need to be yellow and blue, but since we had them on hand I thought it added some whimsy.

These stick puppets were a bit hit in our block area. The kids created homes for them and used them in various play scenarios.

My kids even built a puppet stage out of blocks and put on a puppet show. You might notice my daughter's head hiding behind those blocks.
