How To Make Veggie Pancake

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: This is a simple recipe of traditional Indian style pancake. A very simple but healthy recipe, to which we can cook for breakfast, anytime snack or even as lunchbox recipe also. I added lots of vegetables to make it healthier. So, let's make this homemade recipe of Veggie Pancake for snack today.


Preparation time - 10 minutes
Cooking time - 8 to 10 minutes
Makes 4 to 5 medium pancakes

Ingredients to make Veggie Pancake:

1/2 cup gram flour or besan
1/4 cup rice flour
1 onion finely chopped 
1/4 cup carrot finely chopped 
1/4 cup cabbage finely chopped
2 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
2 tablespoon curd
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
2 teaspoon finely chopped green chilli
1 teaspoon crushed ginger
A pinch turmeric powder

Oil as needed


For dip:

1 tablespoon hung curd
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Salt to taste

Method to make Veggie Pancake:

  • Add all ingredients of pancake in a mixing bowl and mix properly.
  • Add sufficiant water to it and make semi liquid batter.Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Spread batter on hot non stick tavi and make light crisp pancakes from it. Apply oil as needed.
  • Repeat the same as above.
  • Serve hot Veggie Pancake with dip, curd or tomato ketchup. 

How to make Dip: 

  • Add all ingredients of dip in a bowl and mix well.
