How To Make Black Currant Squash

Recipe by Naiya Sheth: Black currants are very popular summer berries. They are rich in several valuable health benefiting phyto-nutrients. Even they have good anti oxidants that are vital for our health. So, it is advisable to eat more of them during this season. But what after that. So, I have a smart solution. And that is home made Blackcurrant Squash. It is very easy to make and can be frozen also. So try Blackcurrant Squash today with your regular meal.




Coking time - 5 minutes
Preparation time - 5 minutes
Makes - 2 glasses

Ingredients to make Blackcurrant Squash:

1 cup black currants
3/4 cup sugar
1 lemon
4 to 5 leafs of mint
1 tea spoon ginger paste
1/4 tea spoon black salt
A pinch chat masalo

Method to make Blackcurrant Squash:

  • Wash and crush black currants.
  • In a pan add crushed black currants and sugar, cook till boiling temperature.
  • Remove from flame, add mint and ginger paste to it. 
  • Cool at room temperature.
  • Add lemon juice to it.
  • When cool again churn and strain.
  • Add chilled water or soda to it. 
  • At last add black salt and chat masalo. Stir.
  • Cool and tempting Blackcurrant Squash s ready to serve.
Tips:
  • Tastes good without balck salt and chat masalo also.
  • During very hot summer fennel powder also can be added to it.
