Glitter Flower Art For Kids
We have been planting a lot of flower seeds in our yard, but it can be hard for my kids to wait for them to bloom. To help fill the time until our flowers grow, we have been having fun making our own flower art. You may have seen our Coffee Filter Flowers which can be a great play prop. Today, I am sharing some Glitter Flower Art for Kids. You probably already have all the supplies you need to make these pretty Spring blooms. Make some while you wait for your garden to grow!
You will need:
- Glitter (multiple colors)
- 12x18 construction paper
- Glue
- Paper towel tubes
- Tray
- Green tissue paper
You will need two paper towel tubes for this activity. Leave one as is and squeeze the end of the other so it forms a petal shape.
Squirt some glue onto a tray. I used clear gel glue but white glue would work just as well. Start with the round tube. Dip it into the glue and stamp it on the construction paper.
Apply the stamp in the upper middle section of the construction paper. You will want to leave room for a stem. We used yellow paper, but let your child choose the color. I bet sky blue would be a great back drop as well.
Pick a color of glitter and sprinkle over the glue. Shake off the excess glitter onto another piece of paper or a paper plate.
Dip the petal shaped tube in glue and apply on paper to make the petals. We did one petal at a time since my daughter wanted multi-colored petals. If you want all your petals to be the same color then the process will be easier.
When you are done making the glitter flowers, you can add a stem. We just used some green tissue paper for this step. I measured how much tissue paper we would need to go from the flower to the bottom of the paper. We bunched up the tissue paper and glued it to the construction paper. We also glued on two tissue paper stem petals.
You could even add some tissue paper grass to the bottom.
Enjoy your glitter flower garden!
